Our adobe casita is tucked behind one of those mysterious walls so famous in Santa Fe. We’re located on one of the early lanes that wound along the river where the first residents had farms, raised sheep and sometimes tended one room stores in their casita. Our location is just blocks from the center of Santa Fe’s famous Plaza and situated along the Santa Fe River just right to catch the amazing ‘light’ of sunrise and sunset.

Step through the antique gate to the first lovely secret garden to begin your vacation stay. Shady year round, this sweet retreat includes it’s own fountain, garden sculptures and a mini-labyrinth. You will be tempted to stop here in these graceful surroundings but the artful entry door beckons you inside.

As you enter the main room of this early Santa Fe adobe the hustle and bustle world falls away as the thick walls surrounds you in a peaceful “hush” hard to describe but easy to feel. Your special Santa Fe experience has begun. The well appointed room features historical vigas, a kiva fire place and wonderful art on the walls and in the eclectic pieces that Santa Fe is so well known for.

Through the archway you’ll find the dining room that seats six (at Christmas we squeeze in 8 of us!) in a surrounding of color and art …. even the doors are painted with bright scenes of an earlier time. A few more steps and you are in a traditional kitchen with a high kiva fire place and lots of light. This was the original room of the home and from here rooms were added one at a time …. It’s still the heart of the casita. The place where everyone gathers around the large antique center counter. Perfect for breakfast coffee if the weather keeps you indoors for out the french doors Santa Fe calls. You’ll enter the second garden and patio. This one is quite large with banco and table seating, a kiva fire place, fountain and the special mountain air. Everyone spends a lot of time in this secluded retreat.

As the evening approaches and the night air cools, the bed rooms call. Sanctuaries each has been created with their own special features that embrace you when you enter calling you to peaceful mountain sleep. Most important is big comfy Queen beds. The master suite has it’s own ambiance with charming gas stove, lounge seating and full entertainment center. Each bedroom has a private bath with special tile work and lot’s for fluffy towels.

Whether your vacation to Santa Fe is for relaxing in this mountain setting, exploring this historical city, shopping this famous art market or simply discovering the Santa Fe mystique, you’ve picked the perfect casita for your vacation time … it has The Location and true Santa Fe historical style.

Our vacation home is located in the historical Guadalupe district of down town Santa Fe. Eight blocks from the Santa Fe Plaza, four blocks to Sambusco Center and close to coffee shops, boutiques and restaurants of all flavors! Our summer evening strolls include the art rich Canyon road or after hours window shopping with finishing off our ice cream cone. Mountain hiking or skiing on your agenda …head up Artists Road and in 15 to 20 minutes the trails are yours for the choosing. Our home is a cozy 1400 sq foot, 2 bedroom, 2 full bath traditional casita full of art and our collection of Santa Fe “must haves”. Your vacation will be relaxing in this environment influenced by our appreciation of the Native American and Spanish history of the area.

Our pricing is based on a high season of April to October at $325 a night.  Off season, November to May is $290 a night.  We prefer a 3 night minimum and offer a free 6th night when booking 5 nights.  Special monthly rates apply.  Pets are welcome but we do like to know who's staying over so please advise!
